Something to Chew on While I’m Gone

I certainly didn’t mean for that to rhyme, but sometimes you just can’t stop the inevitable.

• Kind of like typical young NBA players doing something typically stupid. Or in this case, atypically stupid. I mean that in the sense that it was stupid in a way that it is in a league of its own. I should have capitalized it, in all honesty. I can’t stop laughing about this. Wow, Greg Oden. Just…WOW. If you’re too lazy to click the link, I’ll give you a hint: What do Greg Oden and Vida Guerra, Ashley Greene, Rihanna, and Vanessa Hudgens have in common?

• You get the picture. Oh, did you expect me to link it to you? This is a PG-13 blog, guys. Come on now.
• Also, a buddy of mine sent me the following link about Shaq. I thought it was fitting for what this blog offers, so here it is.
• I haven’t finished watching the entire LAL@WAS game, so try not to ruin it for me. I plan on finishing it soon; hopefully before the LAL@IND game today at 4:00 pm.
• The NBA has announced the participants of the 2010 Rookie-Sophomore Challenge. Taking just one glance at the rosters let me know that this year will end in another blowout in favor of the Sophomore squad. It won’t even be close. Also, I’m more than a little peeved that Toronto’s Demar DeRozan didn’t make the cut. He deserves a spot just as much as Oklahoma City’s James Harden, in my opinion. But hey, at least one of two fellow Southern California natives will be holding it down for the rest of us on All-Star weekend.
• Marc Stein has unveiled who he thinks should be the reserves for the All-Star game in his latest column for Wednesday’s Dime on ESPN.com. If you want to read a short but sweet interview with Mr. Hollywood of the Lakers, scroll down to the bottom.
• ESPN has plenty of trade rumors swirling about, including one that would send Chicago guard Kirk Hinrich to the Lakers, and another that insinuates that the Heat would like to have Chris Bosh after watching him guard Amar’e Stoudemire.
• Speaking of trades, the Hornets have continued their active week by sending L.A. native Bobby Brown closer to his beloved Cal State Fullerton, teaming him up with the other L.A. team. Chances are he or Sebastian Telfair won’t be sticking around long as the Clippers now have a logjam at backup point guard.
• Word out of San Antonio and Phoenix is that both parties are interested in a deal that would send the aforementioned Amar’e Stoudemire to the Lone Star State. I can’t link you because it’s an ESPN Insider website, to which I am not “in”.
