Updates Galore…Enjoy!

TMZ might have to add my picture to the right of the Lakers logo for borrowing this picture. I don't want to get sued too!

  • Britney Spears has to be saying “Oops!” to herself right now, with Justin Timberlake and the Los Angeles Lakers chiming in with, “I did it again!” as the unlikely trio is currently being sued, TMZ reports.
  • Speaking of the Lakers, long-time injured Forward Luke Walton practiced recently, and is looking forward to returning soon. Pau Gasol may make his return tonight as the Lakers square off against Brandon Jennings and the Milwaukee Bucks(btw, what’s with all the Milwaukee teams starting with B’s? Brews, Bucks, Beers? Do they have a hockey team? Probably starts with a B).
  • In case you’re dissatisfied with the inconsistent play of Andrew Bynum, Peter Vecsey of the New York Post has some interesting news for you. Try not to get your hopes up, but I definitely wouldn’t rule out what he’s suggesting could happen. After all, with the way the economy is right now, anything could happen. As for how I feel about it, it would be crazy to see happen. I don’t know if I’m for or against it, because CB might not be the best fit for L.A. On top of that, his length is nowhere near as intimidating as Mountain Drew’s. Losing Drew would mean our frontcourt isn’t as towering as I’ve grown accustomed to. Talent-wise, however, we would clearly be upgraded. Interested to hear your take on it.
  • While things aren’t going well for the Lakers, they are certainly going well for the other L.A. team, the Clippers, who have just recorded their 6th straight home win over the Miami Heat. Chris “Caveman” Kaman destroyed the Miami interior with a monster 22-point, 14-rebound double-double. Baron Davis continued his strong play with a double-double of his own, scoring 11 points and dishing out 14 assists. The final score: 94-84. Great D, Clippers.
  • The Villainous Boston Celtics played spoiler to the surging Toronto Raptors on Sunday morning, defeating them 114-107 in their own arena. Boston’s anorexic Rajon Rondo out-played the point guard duo of Toronto, tallying his first triple double this year. He finished with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and 13 assists. He also stole the ball 4 times, which to me is just…special. Chris Bosh played stellar in a losing effort, posting 31 points and 14 rebounds. I think I liked Boston better when they were losing. Yup, I’m sure of it.
  • Since we’re on the subject, the city of Boston is probably reeling after their hometown New England Patriots got smashed by the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens came into Foxborough and pooped all over the Patriots with a 33-14 drubbing. I thought Ravens laid eggs? I guess not, as it was clearly my favorite quarterback not named Tony Romo that did the egg-laying. Magazine-cover regular Tom Brady completed only 23 of his 42 passes(42!!!!!) for 154 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions. That’s killer. Ray Rice, running back of the Ravens, busted the game wide open on the first play from scrimmage with a 83-yard sprint to the endzone. After a Brady interception, the Ravens scored again making it 14-0 before the Pats knew what hit ’em. Rice finished with 159 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns. This was the first time since Brady and Belichick became a QB-Coach duo that the Patriots have lost in Foxborough in the playoffs(now 8-1). Thanks, Baltimore, for ruining my perfect predictions record and costing me $10.

The entire time I’ve been posting this, the Green Bay Packers and Arizona Cardinals have been involved in a shootout. The score is currently 45-38, with Arizona in front and the Packers with the ball. If the Packers are successful in their comeback it would make it the 3rd largest in post-season history.

Update @ 4:50 pm, PST: Green Bay tied it 45-45, making this the 2nd highest scoring game in post-season history, and we’re not even done yet! Thanks, Trey Wingo!

Till later tonight!
